"Access Denied" - Offline SCCM Server

I’m getting "Error: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) when I try to perform a client action. Specifically “hardware inventory”. I haven’t tried it on other actions. I’m an administrator on the server and I’m also starting the console as an administrator.

Any thoughts of what the issue could be?

Access denied means that the user account logged into ConfigMgr is not a Local Admin on the computer you are trying to run actions against. Here is some more information: RCT: Access Denied (recastsoftware.com). The Right Click Tools Enterprise version has ways to work around being a Local Admin on devices but the community does not.

I have occasionally seen similar things in our environment. If you can ping the device possibly a Corrupt Firewall on the system you are trying to access, Group Policy change or Bad or Corrupt Computer Policy file C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Registry.pol, Remote Registry service not running. Something to check.
