RCT 4.0 Beta Known Issues

The RCT 4.0 private beta is live! If you would like to be a part of the beta, email info@recastsoftware.com. Here are the known issues already being worked (will be updated as new issues arise):

  • Kiosk Manager profiles are not migrated from 3.2.
  • When Right Click Tools are installed on Windows 7, they are unable to connect to Recast Management Server
    • Fixed in Recast Management Server 4.0.956.1324 and Right Click Tools: 4.0.7167.37764
  • Some administrative actions are not audited
    • Fixed in Recast Management Server 4.0.956.1324
  • RCT Runner will not show results in all scenarios
    • Fixed in Right Click Tools: 4.0.7167.37764
  • Audit event results logging is inconsistent
    • Fixed in Recast Management Server 4.0.943.1033
  • Users can not view audit results for other users
    • Fixed in Recast Management Server 4.0.943.1033
  • BitLocker Status Tool doesn’t show any results
    • Fixed in Right Click Tools 4.0.7132.37796 and Recast Proxy 4.0.7132.33937
  • MBAM Recovery Key Tool doesn’t show any results
    • Fixed in Right Click Tools 4.0.7132.37796 and Recast Proxy 4.0.7132.33937
  • Recast Management Server installer has a bug where it does not correctly assign SQL permissions. The workaround is to manually assign db_owner permission for the RecastManagementServer database to the computer account of the server if using remote SQL, or to the IIS AppPool\Recast Management Server account if using local SQL.

  • License import fails in Recast Management Server.

  • Right Click Tools shows connection errors when configured with Recast Management Server

  • Race condition when looking up server settings in Right Click Tools when configured with Recast Management Server. This causes, for example, the Use FQDN setting to take some time to come down to the Right Click Tools.
    • Fixed in Recast Management Server 4.0.927.1227
  • Actions will intermittently not show any data when connected to Recast Management Server. In particular, the Active Directory Cleanup Tool may not populate the Collection or OU dropdowns.

  • Kiosk Manager Apply / Rollback profiles may show a timeout error.

  • Kiosk Manager profiles Apply / Rollback may fail when overwriting a 3.2 profile.
