Two environments, same domain--how to make it work?

We are in the process of migrating from an old SCCM environment to a new SCCM environment. The old environment had RCT (Enterprise) working flawlessly. How do you configure the ‘Settings’ page to include two separate DBs and two separate DB servers? I have added the new primary in the respective places for ‘Agents’ and ‘MEMCM Sites’. Thanks for the help.

Hi there!

Hope all is well! You can only configure one DB and one DB server per RMS installation. Is your goal to migrate all of the settings from your previous RMS installation over to a new server? If so, please follow the instructions in this guide: Server Migration | Recast Docs (recastsoftware.com) and let us know if you encounter any issues.

We are migrating over from old to new environment, but in a production environment with ~15,000 devices, it’s a long process. We were just hoping to be able to carry over from one side to the other. We’ll just have to do without RCT in the new environment until we pull the trigger and migrate everyone over. Thanks for the input!

Hi @michelob,

In that case, I would recommend having two RMS instances. One for the old environment and one for the new. You can select which RMS server to connect to within Configure Recast RCT on any device with RCT installed.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
